Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows tonight. Many areas may wake up to thermometer readings below zero.
Rain and a few thunderstorms will continue to overspread the region this evening. Locally heavy downpours are a possibility. This action is associated with a weak area of low pressure spinning across the Tennessee Valley.
This low will slowly work across the region through Saturday. That means additional rounds of showers and storms will be likely into the weekend.
Highs Saturday and Sunday will run in the mid and upper 70s. 80 is possible for areas getting in on a little bit of sun. Temps by Monday and Tuesday will soar well into the mid and upper 80s.
