SUV crash closes Kentucky highway for nearly an hour

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - A Kentucky highway was shutdown for less than an hour after a crash Saturday afternoon.

Highway 68 was closed around 4:00 Saturday afternoon after a car went off the roadway in Harrodsburg.

The driver says the crash happened because the sun was glaring in his eyes.

We're told the SUV hit a wire to a telephone pole, and went several feet in the air, before hitting the pole and flipping onto its side.

Momentum then sent the SUV, with a family inside, skidding for 15 yards, before hitting a mound and rolling the car upright.

Four people were inside the car, including two children.

There were only minor injuries in the crash.
