Safe end to Lexington standoff

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - All parties involved are safe after an hours-long standoff between Lexington police and a man who barricaded himself inside a home.

Police said they got a call from a man who told them his cousin, a veteran in his 50's, was threatening to kill himself.

When officers arrived at the home, they spotted the man and saw that he had a gun. They called in emergency response units and began trying to talk the man out.

After four hours at around 1:30 Monday morning, police were able to talk him out. At that point, the man said he wanted treatment.
