Sandusky jurors begin deliberating sex abuse case

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - Jurors have begun deliberating in Jerry Sandusky's child sexual abuse trial, a case that could send the former Penn State assistant football coach to state prison for life.

The jury's discussion got under way Thursday afternoon, following closing arguments by his attorney and a state prosecutor.

Sandusky is accused of sexual abuse of 10 boys over a 15-year period, allegations he's consistently denied.

Sandusky didn't take the stand on his own behalf. Eight young men testified for the prosecution that they were his victims. Jurors also heard about two other alleged victims through other witnesses.

Prosecutors call Sandusky a serial predator. Defense lawyers suggest the accusers were coached and have a financial motive to make up stories years after the fact.
