PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Hundreds of people waited in line for Premier Motor's annual Christmas for the Kids in Paintsville.
Each family waited to receive toys and food from the dealership, but most of all to see one man, Santa.
Kids got to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas, and since he couldn't have his sleigh, he made sure to arrive in style.
Santa rode in on a helicopter, and even had a couple helpers by his side.
“I expected it to be a long day, but it’s actually fun getting to see the little kids happy and getting to talk to Santa,” said volunteer, Brooke Hall.
People started lining up as early as 9a.m., and volunteers think that by the end of the day they would have given out donations to nearly 300 families.
Saturday was the 11th year for the giveaway and volunteers say it could be their best one yet.
Volunteers said this year was the largest amount of donations in cash and in toys they’ve every had, which helps them bring Christmas a few days early,
“The kids the important part of it all and the magic when they see Santa coming in the helicopter and the anticipation out there in line,” said Premier Motor Owner, John Mischel.
