Scam delivered in the mail

Updated: Fri 2:55 AM, Oct 12, 2012

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Tonight, we have an alert about a scam that could be delivered to your mailbox.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says they've received reports of people receiving letters in the mail, saying they've won a lot of money through a lottery.

There's also a check, that claims to pay for the taxes on the winnings.

The recipients are told to wait for more instructions.

The sheriff's office says this is just a scam, and you should not give any personal information.
