Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows this morning. Many areas will finish with thermometers below zero.
Most of us will stay on the dry side Thursday. However, showers and storms will roll in late.
The main action for this week has been the tracking of the an area of low pressure. That more intense low has been slowing down in recent model runs. This delays it getting here for Thursday. There will still be a few isolated showers and storms, but the main activity will remain west of our area until Friday morning.
Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will increase Friday. That's when the lows will come rolling along the stationary frontal boundary. The coverage of showers and storms will become widespread through the early morning and into the afternoon. At that point the coverage will become less.
The same system will still be lurking in the area for Saturday. It keeps the storm chances alive through the first part of the weekend. The hit and miss stuff returns for Sunday.
