School bus rear-ended in Marion County

Updated: Thu 10:05 AM, Mar 14, 2013

MARION COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - No children were injured when a Marion County school bus was rear-ended on Thursday morning.

It happened around 7am on US Highway 68 near the Marion-Taylor county line. A male driver rear-ended a Marion County School bus carrying predominately Middle School children.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Superintendent Chuck Hamilton of Marion County Schools tells us it was unfortunate, but he's glad there were no serious injuries.

Parents who lived nearby came to pick up their children and take them to school. Hamilton tells us a sub bus was brought out to transport the remaining children.

We're told the accident will not disrupt the students day, but they may be about 30 minutes late to school.
