GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Three men are now safe after getting lost in the woods Tuesday night.
Rescuers say the men were canoeing on the Dix River at the Lincoln and Garrard County line.
As it got dark, the men got out of the water and searched for major road to lead them back, but they were unable to find one and got lost.
The men did have a cell phone on them and dispatchers were able to stay on the phone with them for more than three hours while search crews tried to ping their location and get to them.
Rescuers were eventually able to locate the three men and bring them safely back.
No one was injured.
