Working on tips from Richmond Police, Lexington Police quickly set up a perimeter around several blocks on the east end.
Investigators tracked shooting suspects Eldon L. Washington and George V. McPherson there from Richmond.
Police believe the two men are connected to the scene of a shooting on Sizemore Drive where one woman was taken to UK Hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
"At about 11:20, one of our officers spotted what looked like one of the suspects at 6th and Ohio in a Lincoln Navigator. The officer tried to make a traffic stop. That subject ran out of the car northbound. And officers quickly set up a perimeter," said Lt. Chris Van Brackel with Lexington Police.
Police units surrounded and closely monitored the block while waiting on a K-9 Unit to arrive.
"As you've seen, we have quite a few people out here today, a lot of children so we wanted to be sure that we could catch him as quickly as possible to keep everyone else safe," said Van Brackel.
"We waited for a while, and actually came back out cause we thought it was ok. Then they caught him in the back yard. We heard them yelling, telling him to get down, so we went back in the house," said concerned neighbor Jennifer Warren.
After learning who police were looking for and why, her first concern was the safety of her three year old daughter.
"She's out here quite a bit everyday, riding her bicycle up and down the sidewalk and playing in the yard,"said Warren.
The man police arrested right behind her house, was Anthony David Caldwell.
While he isn't being connected to the shootings in Richmond, he is facing a trafficking charge due to the drugs found behind after the search.
As for Washington and McPherson, they're still on the run.
