Shoppers battle the crowds at Fayette Mall in Lexington on Nov. 29, 2013
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After decades at Fayette Mall in Lexington, Sears is closing it's doors for good.
The iconic department store will close for the last time on Sunday.
Renovations on the vacant space will begin next month. It is still unclear exactly what will replace it.
Fayette mall says they will keep a path through the store open, to allow customers to get from one side of the mall to the other.
Sears was the mall's third largest store and employed 118 people. Those employees will be able to apply for jobs at K-mart or other sears stores.
