Second murder trial begins for man accused of killing parents

Updated: Mon 7:08 PM, Feb 18, 2013

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Nearly six years have passed since James Anthony Gray was arrested and charged with shooting his parents to death.

Now another jury selection is underway as the prosecution and defense prepare for another attempt.

After a two week trial and hours of deliberation, jurors were unable to reach a decision last winter, leaving James Gray to sit in jail for another year.

He was taken into custody and charged with the 2007 murders of his parents, James and Vivian Gray.

We spoke to a juror from the first trial shortly after the mistrial was announced.
She shared with us her frustration with the lack of decision reached in the trial.

"I don't know if every justice system is like that.
I hope not, but this one here after this trial, it's a pretty sad
situation," the juror told us

The Commonwealth's Attorney office says they're hoping to be finished with the selection by this afternoon.
