Second year of statewide teacher survey under way

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky teachers are being asked for the second year in a row to take a survey on working conditions, and cash prizes are being offered to increase participation.

The Kentucky Department of Education says the statewide TELL Kentucky Survey is under way until March 29. TELL stands for Teaching, Empowering, Leading and Learning.

Results from last year's survey resulted in the adoption of new teaching conditions standards.

Schools that reach a 50 percent response rate will be entered into a weekly drawing for $1,000 in cash for the school. Schools that reach 100 percent will be entered into a weekly drawing for $1,000 cash that will go to a teacher. The prizes are sponsored by the Kentucky Education Association, the Kentucky Association of School Administrators, the Kentucky School Boards Association and the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents.
