Security guard helps police track down robbery suspect

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is in jail, accused of stealing from a central Kentucky hospital.

It happened late Wednesday night at Central Baptist Hospital.

A security guard told police he confronted a man who was stealing metal fencing.

The guard says that man then jumped in a truck and sped off, almost hitting him, another guard and a patient who was crossing the street.

The guard was able to give police a good description of the man's truck.

Early Thursday morning, police found that truck on Wilton Avenue, with the stolen metal inside.

There, police arrested Lawrence Goodlet, 34.

Goodlet is scheduled to be arraigned on charges of robbery and three counts of wanton endangerment Thursday afternoon.
