Semi tires flattened, driver charged with DUI after I-64 crash

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) A semi-truck driver has been charged with DUI after crashing into a guardrail on Interstate 64.

The crash happened early Monday morning near the Van Meter Road exit. Police say they were called about debris in the roadway and found the damaged guardrail near exit 94. They were able to follow a trail of debris to the nearby truck stop on Van Meter Road.

Six of the semi's 18-wheels were flattened in the crash. Winchester Police have charged the driver, Bryan Miller, with DUI. They say he also has an active warrant for his arrest for second degree assault, out of Clark County.

The semi was hauling hot asphalt, but none spilled onto the road. Crews were cleaning up some diesel fuel that leaked after the tractor trailer crashed into the guardrail.
