PARIS, Ky. (WKYT) - More than 20 people were forced from their homes, after an apartment fire.

The Paris Fire Department got a notification from an alarm company early Friday morning from the Bourbon Manor Apartments in downtown Paris.

When they arrived, they saw a fire coming from the fourth floor of the building. Firefighters acted quickly to get people out.

Officials say someone fell asleep and left food on the stove.

Fire crews advised the owners to keep the building evacuated because the alarm system isn't working after the fire.

The Red Cross is helping some of the victims.
