Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows this morning. Many areas will finish with thermometers below zero.
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for much of central and eastern Kentucky until 10pm. This watch includes Lexington, Richmond, Frankfort, Georgetown, Covington, Morehead and Ashland.
A line of thunderstorms will dive southeastward into the state this evening. Damaging wind is the primary threat from these storms. Small hail, torrential rain and a lot of lightning will also be possible.
The prime time for these storms to rumble through will be from 6pm to 9pm.
A cold front will cross the state tonight and usher in cooler and drier weather for the next few days.
