Heavy rain will continue to spark flash flood concerns this evening and tonight. Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 7:30pm for Fayette County.
Our First Alert Severe Weather Day rolls on as we are expecting strong to severe storms through much of the day. Our best chance of severe weather continues to point toward east of I-75 where a "Moderate" risk of severe weather has been placed.
Looking at the set-up for this system, it appears that some areas in Northeast KY have the best chance to see some pretty significant storms. Some of the tornadic indicators, that we look at when tracking thunderstorms, suggest there will be an ample amount of spin in the atmosphere. Basically, formation of tornadoes could come a little easier on Sunday. Storms should calm down by 8pm-midnight.
We have declared today a First Alert Severe Weather Day. That means we will have updates for you all day long on WKYT and right here on WKYT.com.
