Our warm weather pattern is about to come to a crashing end as a cold front works into the region Thursday. This front may produce a round of severe thunderstorms as it blows through.
That severe weather threat will get going late tonight in the west and roll eastward Thursday. This is all ahead of a powerful storm bringing a blizzard to parts of the plains states. An area of low pressure will move toward the northern Ohio Valley on Thursday and will drag a strong cold front through here. That means a line of strong and severe thunderstorms is a very real possibility.
Damaging winds appear to be the greatest threat.
Much colder air will then work into the state for Friday as our skies clear.
