A registered sex offender in Lexington was arrested on Friday for living within a thousand feet of a day care.

Police arrested Homer Glenn Bentley, whose listed address did not match his actual one. Bentley had registered with the address of The Community Inn, a homeless shelter on Winchester Road, but then told police that he hadn't lived there since early February.

Bentley's actual address was on Twelfth Street, and violated the stipulation of his registration and parole that he remain one thousand feet from schools and day care centers. The house on Twelfth Street was within a thousand feet of the "Childrens Spot" day care center.

Bentley had to register as a sex offender after being convicted of sodomy in the third degree.
