Man shot behind Lexington Captain D's

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot behind a Lexington shopping center.

Lexington police said the shooting happened shortly before 5:30 Saturday afternoon behind Captain D's on Reynolds Road. Police tell WKYT that the man, Charles C. Davis, 27, had gotten out of his car to throw something in a dumpster when a black Dodge Challenger pulled up.

Police say several shots were fired.

Davis was shot twice, once in the chest and once in the wrist, police said. He was talking to first responders when he was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, according to police.

Police say they are looking for two men in connection to the shooting. They have also charged Davis with felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.

According to a press release from police, Davis has been uncooperative with investigators. Officers located marijuana, cash and a firearm inside Davis’ car.
