LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - People living there say they're scared and fed up. They say it's time to end a string of violence in a Lexington neighborhood.

Police say Wednesday afternoon, a man was shot multiple times on Dakota Street.

This follows a stabbing on the same street last Wednesday and a shooting on nearby East Loudon on Monday.

Lexington police are searching for a man they say is behind a shooting Wednesday afternoon near downtown.

Police say they were called to Dakota Street around 3:30 pm on Wednesday for a report of shots fired and when they arrived they found a victim lying face down in the street.

We're told there were no witnesses to the shooting, although several neighbors reported hearing around five to six shots fired.

Lexington police arrived at the scene to find the victim lying face down on the road. We're told he was hit multiple times by gunfire, but his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

He is now being treated for his gun shot wounds at UK Hospital.

At this time police are not releasing the name or age of the victim and say they are unsure what the shooters motive could be.

Investigators tell us they do have a vague description of the suspect and are now looking for him.
