NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Signs designating a 13 mile stretch of the Bluegrass Parkway as the "Officer Jason Ellis Memorial Bridge" will be unveiled Tuesday.
Bardstown police officer Jason Ellis was gunned down in an ambush in May of 2013, along the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County. He was shot when he stopped to remove debris from the road.
A year later, police have not yet made any arrests for his murder. Videos and billboards have been released over the past year, however, asking for tips from the public to help find his killer.
The reward for any information that would lead to an arrest is now more than $250,000.
