Six hurt when van rolls into Lexington creek

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It took police nearly an hour to find a man who went missing after a van rolled into a creek.

The crash happened around 2:30 Thursday morning on Roanoke Road in Lexington. Police say the car was coming off Maywick View Lane, when the driver failed to make a turn and went down an embankment. The van ended up upside down in a creek on Roanoke.

When emergency crews arrived, they found five people, who were inside the van. A sixth person was reported missing.

Police found him about an hour later outside Dan's Discount Jewelry on nearby Versailles Road.

All six people were taken to UK Hospital for treatment.

Lexington Police tell WKYT that at this point, they don't know who was driving the van because no one will admit to it. They also say they suspect alcohol played a role in the crash.
