LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)-It has been nearly six months to the day since a man was shot and mugged in downtown Lexington. Officers now say the case has gone cold.

Police are hoping you can help them identify the person responsible for the crime. Investigators say the victim was on Short Street in a parking lot near Skillman Alley when the suspect made his move.

"The victim was attempting to find his vehicle at which point he was approached by a man wearing a blue button down and khaki pants," Detective Dawn Dunn of the Lexington Police Department said.

Police say that's when the suspect shot and robbed the victim, who had stayed out in area bars following thursday night live.

"Hopefully, someone will have seen something in the area. The victim had been at Cheapside bar and grille earlier that night and I believe had been leaving the village idiot. Hopefully, someone can help us identify the suspect so we can charge him."

Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Call 859-253-2020 to give tips.
