Light snow accumulations for the Bluegrass

Posted: Sat 6:45 PM, Mar 02, 2013

Light snow continued into our Saturday with a coating on grassy and elevated surfaces for some areas. Temperatures stayed in the upper 20s to lower 30s today and will fall to the lower 20s tonight as scattered snow continues. Some accumulation will be likely tonight in the Bluegrass with up to an inch possible as northerly winds bring moisture from the Great Lakes. Scattered flurries will fly through early Sunday with clouds slowly breaking up through the day. Highs will only reach 32 with breezy northerly winds.

The sunshine gets us started in the new week but quickly fades as an area of low pressure moves in from the west. A strong cold front will roll across the Commonwealth changing rain to snow Tuesday. We go back to a cold and wet pattern through mid next week.
