Heavy rain will be the issue through the first half of the day. Significant snow & sleet will be the call during the afternoon through tomorrow. Look for almost impassable travel in some spots tomorrow.
This is definitely not the start to a Monday that we'd like around here, but we are just going to buckle up and hold tight. Timing for all the snow to taper off is here...North of I-64 7am-9am...Bluegrass 9am-11am...Southern zones 11am-1pm...Southeast noon-2pm. You can see it'll take some time, which means some zones could pick up some pretty hefty snow totals. Once the snow moves out this afternoon we are looking for a cold and cloudy day in store with highs in the lower 20s.
The good news about this time a year is that these systems don't knock us out of the mild weather for long. They typically come, stay for a day or two, then move on out. That's what will be happening here. The next several days look great with temperatures on the increase. We should be near upper 40s to lower 50s by Friday.
