Soldiers, Kentucky city to conduct emergency training

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - More than 100 soldiers from Fort Campbell will work with the city of Hopkinsville on how to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear incidents.

The 63rd Chemical Company, 52nd Explosive Ordnance Detachment, Fort Campbell, Ky., will conduct the emergency training Friday at the Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville from noon to 2 p.m. The unit is being trained, evaluated and certified for its homeland defense mission for Fiscal Year 2014.

Fort Campbell officials say the event is part of the company's proficiency assessment plan. Training and certification ensures the unit is prepared to respond to catastrophic events.
