Lexington home shot at while homeowner asleep

LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) - Lexington Police say a man who lives on Cheryl Lane reported bullet holes in his home just before 2:30am Monday.

Police say the man says he was asleep when he heard a loud noise outside his house. He says he went to the front door to check out the noise and found the front glass was shattered. Police officers reported finding two .22 caliber shells in the road in front of the home. Police say the homeowner told investigators he did not know why someone would shoot at his house.

A next door neighbor reportedly told police she heard approximately three shots fired a little after 2:00am. She also told police she heard a vehicle leave the scene in a hurried manner immediately after she heard the shots.
