VERSAILLES, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is recovering at UK Hospital after being rescued from a house fire by his son.

The fire happened Wednesday on Dunroven Road in Versailles. The homeowner, Cecil Todd, 78, is being treated for smoke inhalation.

His son told WKYT that when he went to check on his father Wednesday afternoon, he noticed smoke and flames coming from the home. Todd's son said he was able to pull his father from the home, and save several pets.

Todd's son says his father is recovering well at the hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
