SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man convicted of killing his parents will spend the next 45 years in prison for the crime.
A Scott County judge sentenced James Anthony Gray during a hearing Friday afternoon.
Gray was found guilty in February of killing James and Vivian Gray in their Sadieville home in 2007.
"I feel very happy, I'm proud of everybody here for making it easy for justice to come," said Robert Jones, Vivian Gray's brother.
Gray was sentenced to 20 years each for the murders and five years for tampering with physical evidence.
This was gray's second trail in the case, the first ended in a mistrial.
"They didn't see it coming because it was a loved one, one they'd opened the door to many many times," Jones said.
Gray's attorney said he is planning to appeal the conviction.
