LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A south-central Kentucky financial adviser has been sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to pay back nearly $2.3 million to clients whose money he kept.

The U.S. attorney's office says 36-year-old Jonathan Neal Leber of Glasgow pleaded guilty Sept. 4 to defrauding clients from Kentucky and southern Indiana.

He was charged in a one-count indictment with devising a scheme to defraud and obtain money and property fraudulently from clients of his business, Intrepid Financial Strategies Inc., between 2007 and 2011.

According to federal authorities, Leber pleaded guilty to forgery earlier in Bullitt County and was sentenced to probation. He is currently serving a 10-year sentence in a Jefferson County fraud case.

Chief U.S. District Judge Joseph H. McKinley Jr. sentenced Leber in the federal case on Friday.
