Diesel spill closes interstate for several hours

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police had I-75 South shut down at the I-64 split due to a diesel spill for several hours on Saturday.

Police say that the Interstate was shut down shortly after 11 a.m when a diesel truck's fuel tank was damaged, spilling nearly 50 gallons of fuel near the 118 mile marker.

Southbound traffic was diverted onto I-64 and police were directing traffic to get off at earlier exits while they worked to clean up the spill
