A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
We officially start our first day of spring at 12:57 pm, so we aren't done with winter just yet. Nevertheless, we are on our way in which it'll turn out to be a very nice first spring afternoon. Mostly sunny skies are expected with highs in the mid 50s today. Even though our temperatures are slightly cooler than yesterday, it'll still feel warmer with sunshine beaming down. Our Friday looks phenomenal with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s!
We have seen this all too often with our weekend being split. Saturday we will have only a slight chance of rain with our highs reaching the low 60s. Come Sunday we will see some cooler air filter in the area behind our front. Highs will only make it to the 40s with a chance at a mix for the southern zones.
Spring wins the battle through the weekend, but come next week winter holds strong. Cold air filters in for the start of next week. Some moisture will be available to spark off some possible snow showers on Tuesday.
