LEXINGTON, KY. (WKYT) - Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings isn't dreading starting off SEC play against Kentucky. The way things have gone for the Commodores in non-conference action, Stallings thinks it's good.

Vanderbilt beat Kentucky to win the SEC Tournament last March, one of only two losses the Cats suffered in their championship season. Neither team resembles what it was at that time. Kentucky is improving with a record of 9-4, while Vandy has struggled at 6-6. Stallings believes it's a great opportunity with his team playing up and down. "It's probably a good way for us to start off the conference season, to have them come in here. Because if you can have success, if you can win a game like that, then it can certainly catapult and generate a lot of confidence in our team going forward in the league schedule."

Kentucky and Vanderbilt will tipoff at 9:00 p.m. Thursday night in Nashville. The game will be televised by ESPN.
