MILLERSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - A Bourbon County man is behind bars after police say he threatened to kill them with a knife and then barricaded himself inside his apartment.
It all happened on Thursday at the Millersburg Square Apartment Complex at the corner of Eighth Street and Main Street in Millersburg.
Police tell us that’s where 45-year-old Greg Alexander refused to come out of his apartment for several hours.
Just before noon, police received a call from two Com Care workers claiming that 45-year-old Greg Alexander had threatened them with a knife during a routine home check up at his apartment.
But when police tried to intervene, he threatened them with a knife as well.
“They could see him standing around the side and he threatened to kill them if they came in. they could only see his shadows so they left,” said Sheriff Mark Matthews with the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office.
For hours, officials Kentucky State Police, Paris Police and Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office lined the streets outside of the apartment complex while Alexander remained inside until around 2:30 Thursday afternoon.
After confiscating two pocket knives and a six inch hunting knife, police were finally able to remove Alexander from his apartment without harm.
Alexander was taken to the Bourbon County Detention Center and is now facing charges of terroristic threatening.
