State park closed in Harlan County due to wildfires

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Harlan County state park is closed today due to wild fires that have been spreading through the park through the weekend.

The Harlan County Emergency Management reported on Sunday that Kingdom Come State Park in the Cumberland Area shut down until further notice due to a wild land fire that has spread over the weekend.

They ask that patrons do not try to enter this area and for those near by, please use caution.

Reports are that crews are working to contain wild fire on South side of the mountain.
