FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky's state parks are offering a trivia and digital photo contest for families and friends.
The Family Adventure Quest presents a series of challenges that teams complete by seeking out places or subjects in state parks and supplying a photo as the answer. Teams of two to six people have until Dec. 5 of this year to complete the quests.
State parks officials say it's a goal-oriented way to explore natural and historic sites.
Some challenges are park-specific, but most can be answered at any number of parks. And a few can be answered at home.
Some participants have turned the quest into a tradition.
By completing 10 quests, a team will receive a certificate for a one-night stay at a park lodge and passes to park museums or forts.
