State's Emergency Operations Center fully staffed, prepared for severe weather

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - There are a lot of individuals working in the Emergency Operations Center, or EOC, right now.

Crews have been monitoring state-wide issues including trees down, items blocking roadways, and power outages. They're calling Sunday night's incidents few and minor.

They are operating at a Level III, meaning they have a large number of crews actively working, and a taking a look at roads across the state.

"We will continue to monitor the storm overnight. Trying to identify debris fields that may be created as a result of trees or power lines being down and also to identify these roadways that need to be treated so that we can keep traffic moving to the best of our abilities," explained Charles O'Neal with Kentucky Emergency Management.

The EOC will drop to Level II status at midnight. They plan to pick back up with a full crew Monday morning.
