Staying very hot and humid through Saturday, then relief headed our way

Posted: Fri 12:49 PM, Jul 06, 2012

Midday temperatures are in the lower to middle 90s (with a few 80s in parts of Eastern Kentucky where the heaviest rains hit yesterday). We're well on our way to 100 today and could even clip 101 tomorrow. When you factor in the high low-level moisture, heat indices could exceed 105-degrees today and tomorrow. A Heat Advisory or Excessive Heat Warning continues for every county in Kentucky until 9pm Saturday. A cold front will bring some much needed relief Sunday. Periods of showers and storms with more seasonal temperatures (upper 80s) expected by the time Monday rolls around.

Take it easy outside. Have a great (and cool) weekend.
