Stop signs vandalized in Pineville

PINEVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) -- Stop signs in Pineville aren't being stolen, but police say someone is damaging them.

Someone spray painted the letters "KKK" on every stop sign in the Wallsend neighborhood.

Police say they're not sure who did this or why, and now they're working to replace all of those stop signs.

"We're going to put new signs up in place of those," said Chief Charles Matthews of the Pineville police department. "It just takes a little time to get those in, especially during the holidays and weather."

Police say anyone arrested in this case could be charged with vandalism.
