Stores struggle to keep UK gear on shelves ahead of Final Four

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The manager of the Wildcat Warehouse on South Broadway says as the Cats have fought their way to the Final Four, they've been fighting to keep enough fan gear on their shelves.

"We're number one, we're number one!" shouted customer Audrey Moberly as she looked through Final Four shirts.

Ashley Filer, the store manager, says fans are grabbing blue apparel off the shelves as fast as she puts it out.

She says every day customers are waiting at the door and sales are up by 100 percent.

She says 2012's Final Four sales were nothing compared to what she's seen this year.

She thinks the way the Cats started playing in the Big Dance energized the Big Blue Nation to get behind them.

She says so many fans have crowded into the store, they've had to pull Wildcat gear from other stores.

"I've had about six different transfers this entire week from different stores around the state just to fill my shelves,” said Filer.

If UK wins the championship game Monday, the Wildcat Warehouse will print new shirts overnight that will go on sale immediately.
