FAYETTE CO, Ky. (WKYT) - A storm knocked down a tree over a roadway on Saturday, causing a woman to crash her car.

It happened before 2:00 p.m. on Saturday on Lemons Mill Road in Fayette County, about half a mile from Scott County.

Officials say a woman was on her way to Scott County, noticed the tree in the roadway, slammed on her breaks and hit the tree.

No one was injured in the accident. The driver's car suffered minor damage to the front end.

The tree blocked the roadway causing traffic to back up for over an hour. The road department came to cut the tree around 3:00 p.m. and open the road back up.

Phone lines in Scott and Fayette County went down because of the fallen tree.
