A Flood Watch and a Winter Storm Watch are out for the entire region late Tuesday through early Thursday. Heavy rain develops Tuesday night into Wednesday morning and may put down 1”-3” in some areas. We are looking at the possibility of significant snow and sleet from late Wednesday through early Thursday.
Severe thunderstorm warnings continue across southern and eastern Kentucky. Additional strong storms are developing across the Lexington metro.
A cold front moves through overnight into early Wednesday. That should give us a much smaller chance for storms over the next few days. Temps will range from the low and mid 80s Wednesday to the mid and upper 80s by Thursday.
Showers and thunderstorms will crank back up on Friday and carry us into the weekend as a stronger cold front swings in. Locally heavy rain and some strong storms will be possible on Saturday.
Cooler and drier air moves in behind this front into early next week.
