In Lexington, storms left some folks without power for several hours. Others had to clean up a lot of tree limbs that snapped from the strong winds.
WKYT shot video off Spears Road and Jacks Creek Pike. The storms snapped one tree in half, and ripped off a portion of a barn roof.
Families had to wait several hours for the power to be turned back on along Hume Road early Thursday evening as well. Crews say a tree blew over, and pulled a line down with it. At the intersection of Tates Creek and Laredo, two cars collided when the traffic lights stopped working. The power was out there too.
In Woodford County, one family lost their barn roof, a couple trees, and their corn crop. High winds blew the roof off a barn on Big Sink Road. They also blew over corn stalks in the garden.
Kentucky Utilities says 21,000 customers were without power around 10 p.m. Thursday night. Most of those customers were in Louisville.
