LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - When driving around town, it won't take you long to find them. They might even be in your neighborhood.

We're talking about areas in the road have fallen victim to weathering. The road has cracks, that allow water to seep under the surface. Cold temperatures freeze the water, it expands, and then melts again and then...voila...a pothole is born.

These potholes, aside from being an obstacle to maneuver around, can be damaging if you can't avoid them.

Several people we spoke to today say they worry about their tires going flat, or getting knocked out of alignment after hitting a pothole.

To report a pothole on a city maintained street, please call Lexcall 3-1-1 or 425-2255.

To report a pothole on a state maintained road, please call (859) 246-2059 or (859) 246-2355.
