Strong winds cause evacuations at Kentucky Speedway

The strong winds Friday night forced people at the Kentucky Speedway to seek shelter.

Fans in the grandstand had to be evacuated when the winds blew through.

Many race fans stayed in a tunnel until the all clear was given.

A 27 NEWSFIRST crew captured some display tents being blown down, and some other minor damage.

Track officials say a few people had to be taken to the hospital, but none of their injuries were serious.

Sprint Cup qualifying was even delayed briefly until the winds died down.
