Student in critical condition after bus crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Hospital officials say one student involved in a school bus crash in Louisville is in critical condition.

The bus full of middle school students overturned Friday when it was hit by a car carrying three high school students in southwest Louisville. A total of 51 students were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Kosair Children's Hospital spokesman Brian Rublein confirmed the student's condition on Saturday to The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/SVEvti), but said he didn't know which school the student attends.

Rublein said he didn't know whether the student's condition had worsened since Friday, when officials said there were no serious injuries. He said six students remain at the hospital.

Police have said the driver of the car skidded on the wet road and struck the bus at an intersection.
