DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Centre College is buzzing with pre-debate activities.
Volunteers are the ones making sure it all goes smoothly.
Those volunteers include Centre students who are on their fall break.
They're doing everything from parking cars and helping with security to assisting national and international news agencies.
Many look at it not as work, but as an opportunity to break into an area of interest.
"I'm a government major with a minor in English. I love the idea of political journalism, politics from that side of it. And really just showing the truth to the public that might not be aware of it," says student volunteer Emmy Robichaud. "So it's been perfect, especially in senior year."
There are also alumni mixed into the volunteer pool. Some of them helped when Centre hosted a vice presidential debate in 2000.
