Stumbo names bill to raise state's minimum wage top priority

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - The fight over minimum wage could became a hot topic in Frankfort.

During a news conference Friday morning, Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo announced that raising the state's minimum wage is his top priority for the legislature and has designated the measure that would do that house bill one.

Stumbo says he will work hard to build support for a higher minimum wage following moves by several other states.

The general assembly convenes Tuesday at the state capitol.
